PEELAWAY 1: - is a total solution for the removal of many accumulated layers of paint from a surface in just one application.It is the only multiple paint removal system that does not damage the profile when used on the recommended surfaces.
The Peelaway system works by applying the ready mixed paste to the area to be stripped. A special blanket made of laminated polyethelene and fibrous tissue is then laid over the paste for the required time. The paint will become emulsified, absorb onto into the paste and then dry onto the blanket. The blanket can then be removed with the paint and paste attached ready for the surface to be washed down and re-painted. The approx coverage rate is around 1 sq m per KG.
The Peelaway system can be used to remove up to 32 coats of paint in one application and it can remove paint from many exterior and interior surfaces including stone, cement, brickwork, plaster walls & ceilings, plain & ornate fibrous plaster cornices, plain, carved or turned woodwork, plain and cast metal work. It can also be used on Automobile, aircraft and marine coatings. The chemicals used within the stripping pastes minimise fumes and odours. They are also biodegradable and environmentally friendly and provide a safe way of disposing of potentially hazardous paint. PeelAway 1: This is most suitable for multi layers of oil-based paints in older building and widely used on restoration projects. It quickly reacts with paint resins and converts any lead present into a compound that can be safely disposed of. PeelAway 1 is a high PH product to enable it to react with the oil/lead content of multil layers of older coatings. This means that the stripped surface should be neutralised with a weak solution of acetic acid (which is supplied in the pack).
