Johnstone's Acid Etch Solution

Johnstone's Trade Acid Etch Solution- is a surface pre-treatment to be applied before painting power floated and smooth concrete floors. It improves adhesion ahead of the painting application, as long as the concrete surface is clean and degreased with detergent wash or steam cleaning and rinsed with fresh water first (it's not suitable for use on case hardened concrete). Providing treatment coverage of around 20 square metres per litre, it's recommended that the Acid Etch Solution is applied using a soft brush, allowing time to react before another application is made.

Coverage- Johnstone’s Acid Etch Solution will treat approximately 20 square metres per litre.

Application- Apply evenly by soft brush and allow time to react. Two or more applications may be required depending on the amount of laitance present. After the reaction has taken place, the surface should be rinsed with water to remove loose particles and all soluble materials, until the washings are acid free as shown by a suitable indicator paper, and allowed to dry before priming.
